A week of remembrance and celebration

As Día de Los Muertos approaches, Yahví and I have been inspired to make an altar this year with our community. I’ve never really made one before.  This year, I was moved to do so….partly because of our environment, party because I’m inspired by our friends, partly because I really wanted a way to remember Jon, partly because we’ve made more space in our lives for remembering and for reflecting. We spent a few moments last night talking about who we’d like to remember and honor this week.  It was nice to say our loved ones names aloud. Yahví is putting together a beautiful board that includes family members, friends and mentors. I’m feeling grateful for the time to remember, the time to mourn and the time to celebrate.

As this next week goes on, we’ll be sharing music in many places with many folks in honor of this time. Maybe you can join us!

Much love to you and yours,

The McCardos
