It’s Thursday morning, Thanksgiving Day. I’m sitting at our kitchen table writing to all of you, mama is putting together hors d’oeuvres. Pat has prepared a yummy brunch and Yahví’s mom, abuela and brother are coming over soon.
We had our official Thanksgiving Dinner last night around a table full of family, love and food. It was nice to take a moment to remember what we’re each grateful for and to celebrate our new, bigger family. This is our first Thanksgiving as a married couple!
Here’s what we’ve been up to the past couple of weeks:
We went to the University of Iowa in Iowa City to visit Gaby (Yahví’s youngest sister). She’s a freshman this year and she’s amazing! She’s studying hard, working, making new friends… Her energy and vision for this phase of her life are inspiring!
Yahví has been working on the Javier Salas Radio program on WCGO from 3-6pm (Chicago Time) everyday. He’s doing a great job and it’s fun to hear his voice on the radio. I got to visit last week and play with him. It’s amazing to watch him work with all of the behind the scenes equipment, he’s really good at it. Here are some links to the radio station, you can live stream the program from your computer…
I’ve have a new group of fiddle students…. mom, Pat, Marlene and 3 other moms come over every Wednesday morning for fiddle class. It’s a time for fiddle and female camaraderie. What a kick! Yesterday, everyone played the electric bass to learn how to accompany the fiddle…here’s a picture of mom playing the bass! Go Mom!
We love you all and hope that you are safe, happy and warm this Thanksgiving Day.
Los queremos a todos y esperamos que estén en buenas manos, y que estén felices en esta día de accíon de gracias.
Maria y Yahví
